About Us - History

Linked Technologies, Inc. was founded in 1997 by James Mahoney and Christopher Plainte after evaluation of the Mid-Michigan market. The two owners determined that at the time there was a lack of professional information technology consultancy firms in the area. The focus of Mr. Mahoney and Mr. Plainte was to develop a finically solvent professional service firm.

In 2001 Linked Technologies, Inc. relocated their offices from a small, two room facility on James Savage Road in Midland, MI to a large office suite, capable of sustaining continued growth on North Saginaw Road in Midland, MI.

In 2006 after observing changes within the industry, Linked Technologies, Inc. began investing in VMware education and training for Senior Network Engineers. This forage into server virtualization has proven to be a successful strategy for Linked Technologies, Inc. as business of all sizes are now adopting and deploying server virtualization technologies.

Recognizing a need in the market, in 2007, Linked Technologies, Inc. launched a new service offering, the completely outsourced data center. Through the use of VMware ESX, IBM System-X technologies and Microsoft Terminal Services, Linked Technologies, Inc. provides complete environmental management for customers wishing to remove the burden of on-site information technology.

Within the continued proliferation of non-productive email communications, Linked Technologies, Inc. launched a service known as NOSPAM. In 2008, NOSPAM began by cleaning inbound message for clients. NOSPAM has now evolved into a comprehensive mail management solution for organizations wishing to perform both inbound and outbound email monitoring and reporting. NOSPAM also enables customers to choose from: comprehensive anti-spam, comprehensive anti-virus, comprehensive policy management for both inbound and outbound messages and email retention for compliance purposes.

Further in 2008, Linked Technologies, Inc. began the transition from a time and materials organization to a managed service provider. This on-going transition is enabling Linked Technologies, Inc. to offload routine maintenance and system monitoring to a well-established industry platform, freeing Senior Network Engineers to work more directly with customers.

Additional hosting, aimed specifically at the small business market segment was successfully launched in early 2009. Linked Technologies, Inc. through our partnership with Microsoft began providing hosted Exchange services for organizations wishing to reduce operating complexity and expense. The solution has since evolved in to application hosting to include Microsoft Office products, as well.

Linked Technologies, Inc. is a veteran owned small-business.
